Troy Franklin Unlikely To Be A Factor This Year?

Broncos WR Troy Franklin has been battling drops in camp and appears to be low on the depth chart. Camp reports have him behind the Broncos Seventh Round Pick WR Devaughn Vele.

Benjamin Albright of KOA Colorado: "Yeah i've been talking about that for a while. Troy Franklin is unlikely to be a factor at all this year without significant quick development. He's well behind the other rookie (Devaughn Vele) in my opinion."

2024 Fantasy Football Impact

Franklin was a fourth round pick and was paired with his college QB Bo Nix by the Broncos.

But all accounts of camp have been less than stellar for Franklin, with him well behind second year WR Marvin Mims, and now behind seventh round rookie Devaughn Vele.

Franklin was a top recruit coming out of high school and very productive in college, tallying 1,383 yards and 14 TDs in his final year at Oregon.

His Day 3 capital does not guarantee Franklin any type of playing time.

He appears to be not worth a draft pick in redraft leagues.

Dynasty Impact

If Franklin isn't a factor this year, it does not bode well for his long term outlook.

Complete zero WRs as rookies typically don't turn in productive NFL careers.

There is time for Franklin to develop or injuries could give him a chance at playing time, but the long term outlook is poor as well.
