Aaron Rodgers Delivers Another 4-TD Game

        Aaron Rodgers Headshot

Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers accounted for all four of the team's TDs in Thursday night's loss to the Bengals. He extended a play (with surprising mobility for a 41-year-old!) to find TE Jonnu Smith in the end zone from 10 yards out in the first quarter. Rodgers later found TE Pat Freiermuth on a vintage anticipatory seam shot for a 19-yard score in the third quarter. His third score went to TE Darnell Washington from two yards out. Then Rodgers gave Pittsburgh a short-lived 31-30 lead in the fourth quarter, again buying extra time before finding Freiermuth deep downfield for a 68-yard TD. Rodgers finished with 249 yards, the four TDs, and two INTs.

        2025 Fantasy Football Impact

Rodgers opened the season with a four-TD outing against the Jets and threw another four scores in this one. He's the only QB with multiple games of 4+ TDs this year. Rodgers also has two games of two TDs and two with one score.

The TD production is unlikely to continue at this pace. Rodgers has typically rocked a high TD rate. But his current 8.1% would be the third-highest in his Hall-of-Fame career. We wrote just last week about the Steelers being a candidate for more rushing TDs (and fewer passing TDs) going forward. That hasn't happened yet, but the point still stands.

Rodgers' production outside of the TDs has been underwhelming. He's averaging just 28.7 pass attempts and 212 pass yards per game. The 249 yards vs. the Bengals were a season high. Rodgers has been held under 205 yards in three of his six games.

So he still looks like just a QB2 going forward. Rodgers has shown spike potential in plus matchups, though, so he'll be worth considering as a QB1 spot starter in favorable spots the rest of the way. He gets five more games against bottom-eight QB defenses.
