Let's Appreciate the Jalen Hurts Turnaround

By Matt Schauf | Updated on Sun, Oct 19 2025 10:51 PM UTC
        Jalen Hurts Headshot

Eagles QB Jalen Hurts racked up 326 yards and 3 TDs on just 23 pass attempts in Sunday's win over the Vikings. That marked a season-high in passing yards for the Eagles. And it's quietly the third straight game in which Hurts has set such a high.

        2025 Fantasy Football Impact

Philadelphia's offense still had times in Sunday's game where it looked disjointed, and the run game continued to lag. But Hurts has now thrown for 280, 283, and 326 yards his past three games.

He has also delivered his two best completion rates the past two weeks. Hurts followed 72.7% completions against the Giants by connecting on 82.6% of his throws against a Vikings defense that entered Sunday ranked sixth-best in pass DVOA.

Hurts has also posted his three best rates of yards per pass attempt these past three weeks.

It all points to the pass offense getting healthier. And Hurts now gets the eighth-best schedule for QB scoring from Week 8 on, according to our strength of schedule page.

One Thing is Wrong with Hurts, Though

We do need to talk a little downside: Hurts' rushing production has evaporated over the past three games.

He averaged 44.8 yards on the ground across the first four weeks and tallied four rushing scores. Hurts has gone for 3, 13, and minus-10 yards on just 13 total rushing attempts over the past three weeks.

That minus-10 against Minnesota isn't really true. Hurts "carried" on Philly's final two plays of the game, when they were running out the clock. He lost 5 yards on each of those plays.

But even if you take those two plays out, his other two attempts totaled 0 yards. And those came on the team's first possession of the game: a 1-yard gain, and then a 1-yard loss.

Hurts averaged 10.3 carries across the first four games. He has averaged just 4.3 across the past three, even including the fake rushes.

The Philly QB ran no fewer than seven times in any healthy outing last season. So consider this another signal that the 2025 offense has yet to settle in.

The good news: Hurts has spent seven weeks overcoming the offensive issues to deliver fantasy points. So we can continue trusting him in our lineups.
