Browns QB Kenny Pickett injured his hamstring on Saturday and will be sitting out of training camp for at least a few days. Pickett appears to be the leader in the Browns' QB competition, but the injury will mean more reps for veteran QB Joe Flacco and rookies Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders.
Adam Schefter of ESPN: "Browns QB Kenny Pickett injured his hamstring near the end of Saturday’s practice and is expected to re-evaluate the injury later this week, per sources. Pickett was coming off a strong couple of practices, per sources, and at least for the short term, there now will be more reps for Joe Flacco, Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders."
As we outlined in a previous Shark Bite, Pickett received praise with strong practices last week.
Maybe enough to surprisingly be leader in the clubhouse.
For us, Flacco would be a much better choice to boost the Browns' weapons in fantasy including WRs Jerry Jeudy and Cedric Tillman along with TE David Njoku.
The injury could create more of a battle if Flacco or either of the rookies steps up to impress.
Pickett's injury doesn't appear to be significant, though he won't be re-evaluated until about a week after the injury.
