Best Fantasy Football Start-Sit Tool

By Matt Schauf | Updated on Thu, 16 May 2024 . 3:25 PM EDT

Setting Your Fantasy Lineup Just Got Easier

Fantasy football is supposed to be fun, right?

So why is Sunday morning so agonizing?

Because you need to set your best lineup before kickoff. But you just know that no matter who you choose, something is gonna go wrong.

Fantasy football start-sit decisions are TOUGH.

Should you sit that WR for his difficult matchup?
Is that RB set up for points because his team is a heavy favorite?
And how much should you factor in that “mild” injury?

Let Us Make Those Start-Sit Fantasy Football Calls

You have a lot going on throughout the week – probably including a job that isn’t fantasy football.

Well, fantasy IS our job. So we spend all week thinking about those questions above.

We dig into the player research and track all the fantasy football news that’s necessary for answering those questions.

That’s the only way to know who should sit or start fantasy football matchups each week.

And we take that job seriously.

Award-Winning Projections Power Everything

You’ve already arrived at the home of the most accurate fantasy football experts on the web.

That accuracy helps our Draft War Room deliver you the ideal cheat sheet for your draft. And the same live sync that powers your Draft War Room will guide you throughout the season.

Your Team Guide will apply our weekly projections to your scoring and lineup settings every week to recommend the optimal lineup for your specific situation.

3D projections take those numbers even further

But you know there will still be that one excruciating decision that haunts you to the final minute.

And that’s why we built the “Who Should I Start?” Tool.

Take the Pain Out of Fantasy Football Start-Sit Decisions

While you’re wondering “who should I start in fantasy football,” this tool is waiting with the answer.

Begin by selecting “Who Should I Start?” from our regular-season tools section.

From there, the process is simple … despite the complex calculations that deliver your answer.

Who Should I start

Enter the Specifics of your Start-Sit Fantasy Football Question

Step 1: Set the comparison to either 2 or 3 players.

But what if I’m considering more than 3?

If you’re that far from your decision, then you’re really overthinking it. Head to your Team Guide page to see every player on your roster projected for the week and ranked in order of startability.

(And if that's not a word, then we're making it a word.)

Step 2: Select the players to compare from dropdown lists.

Wait, I have to scroll through a list of every player and find my guy?

Nope. You can simply start typing the player name (first or last) to quickly locate him.

Step 3: Choose your scoring.

But my scoring system is different. Will it really work for me?

If you have either synced your team or manually entered your league’s settings, then the “Who Should I Start?” tool will have that specific entry available in the dropdown.

Step 4: Hit the Compare button, and get clarity.

No conditionals. No suggestions. You’ll just get the answer you’re looking for – plus all the pertinent info you could possibly want.

How Does this Fantasy Football Start-Sit Tool Work?

“Who Should I Start?” uses our exclusive 3D projections to answer your sit or start questions.

That system takes into account:

  1. Our baseline projection for each player for that week
  2. His “ceiling” projection, if everything breaks right
  3. The likelihood he hits that ceiling

But you’ll see a lot more than just the answer to your start or sit fantasy football question.

All the Info You Could Want

We know you’re too smart to just take our word for something. You want to know why it’s this player and not that player.

And we’re happy to tell you.

The info you’ll find beneath the player name and 3D projection includes:

  • The player’s floor, ceiling, and consensus projection for the week
  • His projected rest-of-season points per game
  • His opponent for the week, and that opponent’s rank vs. his position
  • His probability of getting injured this week
  • Player Shark Bites that deliver and analyze the latest news

But What if I Check Early in the Week and Then Something Changes?

We’re on it.

We’re watching those daily injury reports. We’re reading all the news. And we’re continuing to analyze all the data the season has delivered to that point.

If anything arises that should affect the player’s projection, we’re changing it.

So you’ll know the “Who Should I Start?” tool is up to date every time you use it.
