Broncos LBs Finally Getting Healthy Together

The Broncos are finally getting LBs Dre Greenlaw and Alex Singleton on the field together after varied injury issues for both players. Greenlaw -- who signed with Denver in free agency -- sustained an offseason quad injury that lingered into training camp. HC Sean Payton said the team has been "careful" with Greenlaw's practice participation as he dealt with scar tissue from the quad injury. Singleton, meanwhile, came off an ACL tear that ended his 2024 season in Week 3. He made it back for the start of camp but broke his right thumb on July 28 and needed surgery.

        What They're Saying

HC Sean Payton: "For both of them, being on the same page [is important], and I think when you take into consideration one of them is coming in new to this defense, there's some variables there that need to be worked out."

Parker Gabriel of The Denver Post: "It's also been a long time since either saw extended game action. Greenlaw played 36 total snaps over two games last year around Achilles and calf injuries, and Singleton missed Denver's final 15 regular-season and postseason games."

        2025 Fantasy Football Impact

The Broncos open with a Titans offense that will likely be looking to run the ball, and then road games against the Colts (Jonathan Taylor) and Chargers (Omarion Hampton plus run-favoring coaches). So there's room for lackluster LB play to bite them early.

As for IDP value, the first question will be whether Greenlaw and Singleton are ready for full duty. Singleton seems on track to be there. Opening camp on time suggests his repaired knee is doing well. And the thumb repair shouldn't be an issue by Week 1.

Greenlaw's more of a question mark with the scar tissue. If Denver coaches don't reveal more about his anticipated role ahead of the opener, then we'll have to start out hesitant on using him.

At this point, Singleton looks like the better pick in fantasy football drafts. Each guy carries some risk.
