Phew! TD Saves Jordan Mason's Week 7

Vikings RB Jordan Mason needed a 1-yard TD late in the third quarter to save what otherwise would have been a fantasy dud against a Philadelphia defense that has appeared league average so far this season. Mason rushed 15 times for 57 yards (3.8 yards per carry) and drew no targets in Sunday's loss to the Eagles.

        2025 Fantasy Football Impact

Mason faced no challenge to his workload, with Aaron Jones still sidelined.

He claimed 79% of the team's RB carries for the game, and No. 2 RB Zavier Scott managed just 4 yards on his four attempts. (That's 1.0 yards per carry for the most math-challenged.)

Scott and FB C.J. Ham drew the only two targets among backfield players. But Mason dominated pass routes, running 29 to Scott's five and Ham's four, according to Pro Football Focus.

QB Carson Wentz has been more of the scrambler/gunslinger for most of his career. But Mason garnered seven targets over the previous three games. He tallied 3 receptions in each of those contests, but managed just 19 yards on those 6 catches -- an ugly 3.2 yards per reception.

Mason's averaging just 3.8 yards per catch for the season, 3 yards short of his own just-OK career average.

Jones should easily reclaim the receiving lead when his injured hamstring is ready. And Mason's lackluster past three games on the ground -- all short of 60 yards -- leaves room for Jones to siphon rushing work as well.

        Trade Value Changes

If you find an opportunity to sell Mason ahead of Jones' return, strongly consider making the move. And if you're already in good shape at RB overall, try to sell Mason ahead of a Week 8 visit to the Chargers.

Jones could return as soon as next week.
