The Cowboys finally figured out what their defense has been lacking, and it's a LB not even good enough to start for the Bengals. Dallas is trading a seventh-round pick to Cincinnati for LB Logan Wilson. The 29-year-old spent most of the past five years starting for the Bengals, but rookie Barrett Carter replaced him in the lineup in Week 6 and has remained the corps leader in playing time since then.

The Cowboys are likely bringing Wilson in to start right away in place of Jack Sanborn, who landed on IR with a groin injury. Wilson figures to push Shemar James back out of the lineup and join Kenneth Murray as the group's playing time leaders.
We'll see how full that snap share is for Wilson, but he has historically posted worthwhile numbers when getting full-time usage. Wilson presents particular upside in the coverage categories. Even this season has still found him defensing four passes (though two of those came against the Browns in Week 1).
Dallas also expects to return LB DeMarvion Overshown from his knee repair at some point this month. That further complicates the position's playing-time outlook, but the Cowboys get a Week 10 bye to help sort things out.
Wilson's stashable in deeper IDP leagues but remains far from a must-own. He posted disappointing production early this season relative to his previous campaigns, before the benching.
Nothing meaningfully changes in the Cincinnati LB corps, given that Wilson had already slid behind Carter and fellow rookie Demetrius Knight.
