The Cowboys (and others) have announced this morning that second-year Edge Marshawn Kneeland died Wednesday night. No details on cause of death have been shared to this point.
What They're Saying
Former Dallas DC Mike Zimmer, via NFL Network's Jane Slater: "He was a great person, eager to learn ... wanted to be great. He didn’t take any crap from anyone on the field. He studied hard-loved playing the game. Tough. ... My last conversation with him was keep being you you’re going to have a great career."
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
This is a shocking and tragic outcome for a player drafted in the second round just a year ago.
It should help Cowboys and players a bit in their coping that this happened over the team's bye week.
From a football standpoint, losing Kneeland shouldn't alter the team-defense outlook or present much IDP impact.
Of course, this situation reminds us that there are things much more important than real and fantasy football.
