Browns RB Quinshon Judkins went 16-47-2 against the Raiders, averaging just 2.9 yards per carry. The Raiders defense shut down the run for most of he game, but Judkins was able to score on 8- and 2-yard runs early in the game. After those TDs, he did not have much of an impact in the game. He did make multiple trips to the injury tent in the fourth quarter.
Despite the medical team looking at Judkins multiple times, he did finish the game. Fellow rookie RB Dylan Sampson appears to be the clear backup. In the fourt quarter, Sampson took seven of 11 snaps, Judkins played five, and Jerome Ford only played one.
It was another game where Judkins did not offer anything in the passing game. He had no targets and only ran five routes the entire game (with 25 total snaps). Sampson played 19 snaps but ran seven routes in the game. Sampson actually led the team in receiving yards going 2-59-1.
That TD was the first passing TD for rookie QB Shedeur Sanders. The 66-yard TD was a pass to the flat where Sampson used his speed and vision to take it to the house. Sanders went 11/20 for 209 yards with a TD and pick in the game. It was a good enough performance to win the game, but Sanders offers little fantasy upside.
Judkins will continue to be TD dependent in any league format and the lack of offensive firepower will also make Judkins very match-up dependent to get those TDs.
Samspon could be worth a bench stash moving forward in case Judkins misses a game. Even if Judkins plays next week, Sampson in a receiving role could be intriguing in deep PPR leagues.
