According to Rich Cimini of ESPN, Jets HC Aaron Glenn is "moving toward" naming Tyrod Taylor the starter for Sunday's game against the Bengals. QB Justin Fields was benched last week against the Panthers. Taylor went 26/36 for 197 yards and 2 TDs in his only start against the Buccaneers in Week 3.
What They're Saying
Rich Cimini of ESPN: "Woody Johnson said the QB decision is "completely up to the coach." Aaron Glenn hasn't announced his plans yet, but he's moving toward naming Tyrod Taylor his starter, sources tell ESPN"
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Taylor might be a slight upgrade for Jets' weapons like RB Breece Hall and TE Mason Taylor, but he didn't show much last week against a difficult Panthers defense. Luckily, the Bengals defense gives him a stronger opportunity to succeed.
Fields may not see the field again this season if Taylor has success and Glenn tries to keep his job for longer than a season. When WR Garrett Wilson returns, this could provide a boost for him as well.
Dynasty Impact
Ultimately, this could spell the end for Fields' NFL career. He signed a two-year deal with the Jets, but they don't have to stick with him as a starter for the future. He is worth selling if you can get anything in return.
