Steelers RB Jaylen Warren left Sunday's game against the Bengals briefly with an ankle injury. Despite returning, his availability for this week against the Bears was in jeopardy. HC Mike Tomlin said that the injury will limit him in early portions of practice this week, but Warren is expected to be available for the game soon. He should start the game, with RB Kenneth Gainwell remaining the No. 2 option.
What They're Saying
Brooke Pryor of ESPN: "Mike Tomlin says Jaylen Warren's ankle injury will limit him in early portions of practice this week, but he's 'optimistic' about his availability for Sunday.
Should also get Darius Slay (concussion) back this week. Alex Highsmith (pec) limited this week."
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Warren's availability is a relief for fantasy managers who saw him go 10-62-0 on the ground against the Bengals, on pace for a bigger day before his injury.
Gainwell broke out with Warren limited going 9-24-0 on the ground and 7-81-2 through the air. Gainwell could get additional work, especially as a receiver, if Warren is limited on Sunday.
Warren should be used cautiously in lineups with his injury status still monitored throughout the week. He could cede snaps to Gainwell and struggle to provide a solid fantasy performance without a TD. Warren's availability also takes the shine off Gainwell as a prime waiver option, though he should be added to your bench in PPR leagues still.
