It was a busy day at the office for Kansas City's offense. The Chiefs ran a whopping 91 plays and racked up 494 yards of offense in their 23-20 overtime victory over the Colts. RB Kareem Hunt carried a career-high 30 times, running for 104 yards and a TD in the victory. Hunt also caught all 3 of his targets for 26 more yards. Hunt's 20 fantasy points were his most in a game since he scored 20.5 points in Kansas City's 2023 Wild Card win over the Texans.
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Hunt shook off an early lost fumble and was integral for the Chiefs. He carried the ball 7 times for 27 yards in the Chiefs' game-winning drive in overtime.
Hunt's 2-yard, fourth-quarter TD was his fourth consecutive game with a rushing score. The last three of those contests were all starts, but Hunt's days of drawing starts could be ending.
Isiah Pacheco, who missed those three games with a sprained MCL, practiced in full last Wednesday. Andy Reid erred on the side of caution and gave Pacheco one more week to heal.
That gamble paid off.
Hunt played a season-high 68 snaps and accumulated 130 scrimmage yards.
But with Pacheco trending toward a return in Week 13, Hunt's playing time and production will drop off. Pacheco started over Hunt in each of Kansas City's first 8 games. Pacheco also out-snapped Hunt in 7 of those 8 games.
While Hunt's volume will take a hit, he'll still have a fantasy-relevant role in Kansas City's high-octane offense. Hunt has commanded 75% of the Chiefs' carries inside the opponent's 5-yard line.
Week 12 was likely the high-water mark for Hunt's 2025 season, but he still has weekly RB3/flex value playing behind Pacehco.
In Week 13, the Chiefs have a phenomenal matchup against the Cowboys, but the schedule gets tougher after that. They host Houston's league-best defense in Week 14.
