ESPN's Nick Wagoner reports that 49ers DL Keion White got shot in the ankle in downtown San Francisco early Monday morning. "According to the team, White is in surgery now," Wagoner posted on X at 7:48 p.m. ET.
Wagoner: "White's injuries are not considered to be life or career threatening, but the team will have more information after his surgery is complete."
It's obviously good that White doesn't appear to be at risk for the long term. That he was in surgery Monday night for an early morning gunshot wound, though, seems to indicate the situation's decently serious.
We'll see about the official return timeline with further updates.
