Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase dominated the Steelers on Thursday night, hauling in 16 of 23 targets for 161 yards and a score. The 16 catches set a new Bengals single-game record. The 23 targets were a career-high for Chase. This one was baffling from the Steelers side. The defense consistently left Chase singled up in man coverage, leading to easy completions on slants, crossers, and outs. Chase is awesome -- but it was simply too easy in this one. His TD came on one of his more difficult grabs of the night on a fade to the back left corner of the end zone. That came just one play after he failed to corral a pass in the paint. Chase also drew 14 and four-yard pass interference penalties on an overmatched Steelers secondary.
Bengals WR Ja’Marr Chase is active for today’s game vs. the Packers. He missed Friday’s practice and was listed as questionable, but we're projecting him to play his normal role today.
Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase (illness) is expected to play vs. the Packers today, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Chase was sidelined on Friday and listed as questionable, but we're projecting him to play his normal role today. Chase has not moved in the Week 6 WR rankings.
Bengals WR Ja’Marr Chase did not practice on Friday and is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game against the Packers due to an illness. Guys almost always play through illnesses, so we’re still fully expecting Chase to be available for Week 6 fantasy lineups. But we’ll look for further updates on his status. We won’t get Cincinnati’s inactives until a little before 3 pm ET on Sunday.
Bengals WR Ja’Marr Chase erupted for 14 catches, 165 yards, and 1 TD in a close Week 2 win over Jacksonville. Chase's 16 targets represented a 35.5% team share.
NFL Network reports that Bengals QB Joe Burrow is believed to have suffered a Grade 3 turf toe injury in the Week 2 win over the Bengals. If confirmed, Burrow will need surgery and miss "at least 3 months." ESPN's Adam Schefter adds that images of Burrow's toe are being sent to foot specialist Dr. Robert Anderson before a final decision is made.
The Bengals have agreed to four-year deals with WRs Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins, according to multiple reports. Chase gets $161 million over four years, making him the highest-paid non-QB in the league. Higgins gets a $28.75 million annual average that ranks ninth among current WR contracts.
Bengals WR Tee Higgins caught 11 of 12 targets for 131 yards and THREE TDs. Fantasy managers were rewarded if they stuck with Higgins despite his Questionable tag. He faces potential pending free agency this offseason.
Bengals WRs Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins both found the end zone and combined for 19 targets against the Brown. Chase caught six of eight targets for 97 yards and a score while Higgins caught eight of 11 targets for 58 yards and a score.
Bengals WRs Tee Higgins and Ja’Marr Chase each scored TDs in the high-scoring affair against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Higgins caught five of 10 targets for 69 yards and the TD. Chase had a big day as well catching six of nine targets for 86 yards and his TD.
Bengals WR Tee Higgins had a big game Sunday night in his return from a three-week quad injury. Higgins caught a team-high nine passes for 148 yards and a TD in the loss to the Chargers. He tied WR Ja'Marr Chase for the target lead (13) and trailed Chase's team lead in routes by just five. Chase caught seven balls for 75 yards and 2 TDs against the Chargers.
Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase obliterated the Ravens for 11 catches, 264 yards, and three TDs on Thursday night. The 55.4 PPR points were the 20th most scored by any player in a game in NFL history. They're the eighth most ever by a WR. A Baltimore secondary that's struggled all season and lost S Kyle Hamilton to an ankle injury in this one simply had no answer for Chase. He scored 67- and 70-yard TDs in the second half. And he got the hat trick with a leaping grab for a five-yard TD with less than a minute to go to bring the Bengals within a point. (They failed to convert the 2-point conversion.) Chase was targeted on 17 of QB Joe Burrow's 56 pass attempts -- good for a 30.4%. target share.
Bengals WR Tee Higgins (quad) is officially inactive for tonight's game vs. the Ravens. He remained sidelined in practice all week. We'll see if Higgins can make it back for Week 11's game vs. the Chargers, but it's worth noting that Cincinnati has a Week 12 bye. Look for WR Ja'Marr Chase and TE Mike Gesicki to lead the Bengals in targets tonight.
ESPN's Dan Graziano hears that there's "pessimism" about Bengals WR Tee Higgins' availability for Sunday's game vs. the Eagles. Higgins was added to the injury report with a quad on Friday, limited in practice, and listed as questionable. "The Bengals are planning to go right up until game time before deciding" on Higgins' status, Graziano adds. We'll look for more updates on Higgins on Sunday morning and get Cincinnati's inactives around 11:30 am ET. His absence would mean more target potential for WR Ja'Marr Chase, WR Andrei Iosivas, and the Bengals RBs and TEs. It'd also be a significant loss for QB Joe Burrow.
Bengals WR Tee Higgins led the team with 82 yards on 8 targets in Week 7. He’s now out-targeted Ja’Marr Chase in four straight games, with totals of 38-30.
