Montez Sweat Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Bears Edge Montez Sweat is active for today's game against the Packers. He entered questionable with an ankle injury but should be good for regular IDP use after finishing the week with a full Friday practice.

Bears Edge Montez Sweat (shin) is inactive for today's game against the Cardinals. Chicago will also miss slot CB Kyler Gordon (hamstring).

Bears Edge Montez Sweat (toe) is active for today's game against the Titans. This seemed likely after he finished the week with a full Friday practice. Go ahead and play Sweat as planned in an upside matchup.

Bears Edge Montez Sweat is questionable for Sunday's opener against the Titans with a toe injury. He finished the week with a full practice, though, after limited workouts Wednesday and Thursday. HC Matt Eberflus called the outlook for Sweat "good," though, according to Josh Schrock of NBC Sports Chicago. The Bears have also deemed Edge Darrell Taylor (foot) and DT Demarcus Walker (groin) questionable.

Multiple reports say the Bears are sending a second-round pick to the Commanders for Edge Montez Sweat. The 27-year-old is working on potentially his best season yet, including 6.5 sacks, 10 tackles for loss and 11 QB hits through eight games. Sweat is also in the fifth and final year of his rookie contract. So this level of investment by the 2-6 Bears suggests they're hoping to extend Sweat before he'd hit free agency in March. It's obviously a strong addition for what has been the league's worst pass rush, as well as a big blow to a Washington defense that has stunk against the pass. For IDP purposes, Sweat faces some downside risk. He leaves one of the league's most talented D-lines to join a group that badly needs him. We'll see how quickly Sweat can assume his normal playing time and whether there's any drop-off in pass-rushing production. He'll get a neutral matchup with the Saints (18th in adjusted sack rate) this week before a better spot against Carolina in Week 10 (25th in adjusted sack rate).

Commanders Edge Montez Sweat left in the third quarter of Sunday's game against the Falcons after hurting his left thumb. He's questionable to return.

Washington DE Montez Sweat is inactive for today's game against the Eagles. He has been away from the team this week following the shooting death of his brother.

Washington DE Montez Sweat is questionable for Sunday's game against the Eagles. He has been away from the team this week after his brother was shot and killed in Virginia. We'll check his status Sunday. Washington will be without CB William Jackson III for the 2nd straight game because of a calf injury.

Washington on Monday activated DE Montez Sweat from IR. Sweat would have been able to return from his jaw fracture for last week’s game but landed on the COVID list. He’s now clear to play Tuesday against the Eagles. Washington also activated DT Matt Ioannidis from the COVID list Monday, making him eligible to face Philly. Ioannidis’ playing time has increased in recent games

Washington has activated DE Montez Sweat and DT Jonathan Allen — among others — from the COVID list. That likely clears them to face the Eagles on Tuesday. Sweat does still need to be activated from IR, where he spent the past 5 weeks with his jaw fracture

Washington DE Montez Sweat has tested positive for COVID and will miss at least the next 10 days, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. That mandated timeline comes because Sweat is not vaccinated. He'll miss at least Sunday's game against Dallas. We'll see about his availability for a Week 15 clash with Philadelphia. Sweat had been slated to return after missing the past 4 games with a jaw fracture.

Washington HC Ron Rivera said Monday that he expects DE Montez Sweat (broken jaw) and S Landon Collins (foot) to be cleared to return to practice this week. Sweat has missed the past 4 games with his injury. Collins missed Sunday's win over the Raiders with an injury he suffered late in the previous week's win over Seattle. We'll keep an eye on the statuses of both players through the week, but it seems they'll be back in play for IDP consideration for Sunday's upside matchup with Dallas.

Washington has placed DE Montez Sweat on IR for his broken jaw. It had already been reported that the team expected Sweat to miss multiple games. So this just locks in that he'll sit out at least the next 3. Second-year DE James Smith-Williams looks like the next man up. He played the 3rd most snaps among Washington DEs in the Week 8 game in which Sweat got hurt.

Washington DE Montez Sweat suffered a jaw fracture in the Week 8 loss at Denver and is expected to miss "at least" the next couple of games, according to Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post.
