Michael Mayer Involved Even Before Brock Bowers Left

Raiders TE Brock Bowers left Sunday's game in the fourth quarter with a knee injury. It sounds like he'll be fine, but that issue presents potential opportunity for Michael Mayer, the No. 2 TE. Mayer caught all four of his targets in Sunday's win over the Patriots, tallying 38 yards and trailing Bowers by just one reception.

QB Geno Smith threw for 362 yards in his regular-season debut for the Raiders, with 1 TD and 1 INT. Smith connected on 24 of 34 passes, with WR Jakobi Meyers and TE Brock Bowers predictably his top targets. He also took four sacks and scrambled once. (Smith's other "rushing attempt" came on a game-ending kneel down.)

Raiders TE Brock Bowers told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero that he's "fine" after exiting Sunday's opener vs. the Patriots with a knee injury. "Took a little hit on the knee, came out to get checked out. No concerns moving forward," Pelissero added. HC Pete Carroll also said that Bowers wanted to come back into the game but the team opted to hold him out. It sounds like Bowers dodged a significant injury, but we'll look for further updates on his status.
