Kimani Vidal's Big Day Might Not Matter

Kimani Vidal's Big Day Might Not Matter

Chargers RB Kimani Vidal racked up 126 yards and a TD on 25 carries in Sunday's win over the Raiders. That beat his season high for yardage by 2 and matched his season high in carries, set two games prior. Vidal added 1 catch for 11 yards.

Chargers RB Omarion Hampton (ankle) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Raiders. He returned to limited practices this week but isn’t quite ready for game action yet. “It was a good week,” HC Jim Harbaugh said Friday. “Really beneficial, ramping up. Everything’s on track to return, not this week.” RB Kimani Vidal is the only healthy RB on Los Angeles’s active roster right now, with RBs Jaret Patterson, Amar Johnson, and Trayveon Williams on the practice squad. We’ll see which of those guys are elevated on Saturday afternoon, but Vidal is in for strong volume in a good spot against the Raiders’ 25th-ranked RB defense.

Chargers RB Omarion Hampton revealed Wednesday that he fractured his left ankle in Week 5. The details of Hampton's injury hadn't previously been disclosed, but it now makes sense that he wound up missing nearly two months. The rookie said he feels "amazing" now and hopes to return for Sunday's game vs. the Raiders. We'll keep an eye on his status over the next few days and see if the Chargers activate him from IR before Saturday's 4 pm ET deadline.
