Dak Prescott medically cleared to return from thumb injury

Cowboys HC Mike McCarthy says doctors have cleared QB Dak Prescott (thumb) to play, according to NFL Network's Jane Slater. The team plans for Prescott to throw 40-50 passes at Thursday's practice, and the QB appears on track to return Sunday against the Lions.

Though he's listed as questionable for the Sunday night game against the Eagles, Cowboys QB Dak Prescott (thumb) won't play, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. He adds that the QB "still must improve to be ready to practice" Wednesday. We'll continue to track Prescott's progress. Cooper Rush gets his 5th straight start.
