De'Von Achane, RB MIA

7:57am EST 11/24/23

De'Von Achane (knee) expected to miss Week 12

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports that the Dolphins don't expect RB De'Von Achane (knee) to play today against the Jets. He adds that it's not a "long term" injury, so don't be surprised if Achane's ready for Week 13. Pelissero says to expect "a lot" of Raheem Mostert and "some" Jeff Wilson Jr. in the Black Friday game. Mostert makes for a strong fantasy play in a matchup that's much friendlier to rushing than passing. Wilson's a fine roster stash given Achane's situation and could pay off in DFS showdown lineups. But he has only 13 touches through three appearances this season and was a healthy scratch last week. So we wouldn't recommend trying Wilson in common-sized fantasy football league lineups.

Dolphins RB De'Von Achane (knee) is listed as questionable for Friday afternoon's game vs. the Jets. He was limited in practice all week. The Dolphins elevated RB Darrynton Evans from the practice squad on Thursday, which is an indication that they're not particularly optimistic about Achane's availability for this one. We'll get Miami's inactives around 1:30 pm ET on Friday.

Bears RB Khalil Herbert (ankle) was not activated from IR and won't play vs. the Panthers today. Herbert was listed as a full participant in practice all week, so he should be able to return for Week 11. His absence tonight leaves D'Onta Foreman as the favorite for lead duties against Carolina's 31st-ranked RB defense. He's carried 15+ times in three of the last four weeks and is a solid RB2 play tonight. Roschon Johnson will handle No. 2 RB duties and is on the RB3/Flex radar in this plus matchup. The Bears on Monday designated RB Khalil Herbert to return from IR. Herbert missed the past four games after suffering a high-ankle sprain against Washington. His designation doesn't necessarily mean he'll return to the active roster for Week 10. But it does allow him to return to practice and give Chicago three weeks to decide whether to activate him. We'll have to see how Herbert fits in with D'Onta Foreman, Roschon Johnson, and Darrynton Evans once he returns, but Herbert had been the backfield's top guy before the injury.

Bears RB Roschon Johnson (concussion) is out for Sunday's game vs. the Raiders. He's yet to return to practice, despite sustaining his concussion over two weeks ago. With RB Khalil Herbert (ankle) on IR, the Bears are down to RBs D'Onta Foreman, Darrynton Evans, and Travis Homer, who is set to return from his hamstring injury. Foreman is the favorite for carries after handling 15 of them last week.
