Nov 18, 2023 | Non-NFL | Pedal Ankle Sprain/Pull Unspecified Grade 1 | Worthy admitted he battled the injury into the College Football Playoffs. “I'm feeling better, (but) I'm trying my best to get close to 100% come game time,” he said ahead of the Washington game. |
Oct 15, 2022 | Non-NFL | Hand Finger Fracture | Injury date is an estimate, as Worthy's broken hand wasn't revealed until the spring of 2023. HC Steve Sarkisian said Worthy played "half" the season with the injury. |
May 20, 2024 | NFL | Thigh Hamstring Sprain/Pull Unspecified Grade 1 | Worthy suffered a left hamstring strain at OTAs. He sat out June minicamp as a precaution, per HC Andy Reid. |
Worthy’s short- and long-term fantasy outlooks got a boost when he landed with the Chiefs in Round 1 of this year’s draft. Kansas City has ranked top eight in passing yards and TDs in all six seasons since QB Patrick Mahomes took over.
Worthy faces stiff target competition this year from TE Travis Kelce, WR Marquise Brown, and WR Rashee Rice (after he serves an expected suspension). It’s possible that the rookie settles in as the No. 3 WR and No. 4 option in the passing game.
But he has the potential to push Rice for the lead WR role. That could have Worthy producing as a WR2 with upside for fantasy squads.
