Bears add Yannick Ngakoue

Bears add Yannick Ngakoue

The Bears are signing Edge Yannick Ngakoue to a one-year, $10.5 million deal, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. He spent 2022 with the Colts after being traded by the Raiders. Ngakoue totaled 19.5 sacks over the past two seasons but has exceeded 10 just once in seven pro seasons. He has also topped 30 total tackles just once, back in 2017. Ngakoue has primarily been a low-impact IDP factor, especially since leaving the Jaguars (after 2019). He should, at least, step into a starting gig in Chicago. There's upside for deeper big-play leagues.

The Colts have placed EDGE Yannick Ngakoue on IR. He popped up on the injury report Friday with a throat issue that we haven't seen details for. He'll obviously miss the final 2 games now. Indy should remain in solid shape at the edge spots, with Kwity Paye and Dayo Odeyingbo as the starters. Both sit among our top 20 D-linemen in the Week 17 IDP rankings.

Colts DT DeForest Buckner (ribs, illness) and EDGE Yannick Ngakoue (back) is active for tonight's game against the Steelers. EDGE Kwity Paye (ankle) is inactive.

Colts DT DeForest Buckner is questionable for Monday night's game against the Steelers. He finished the practice week with a full Saturday workout, though, after sitting out the previous 2 days. Buckner is listed with a rib issue and illness. We'll confirm his status ahead of Monday's game but would bet on him playing. Colts DT Grover Stewart and Steelers DL Larry Ogunjobi can be fallback options for IDP lineups. Colts edge players Kwity Paye (ankle) and Yannick Ngakoue (back) are also questionable and don't look worth waiting for. Paye missed all 3 days of practice this week. Ngakoue left Friday's practice early and then missed Saturday.

Colts EDGE Yannick Ngakoue (back) is active for today's game against the Chiefs. He's a lower-level IDP option anyway, though.
