Eli Raridon Fantasy Overview

Patriots TE Eli Raridon (thigh) is questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Jaguars. The rookie was limited in Wednesday’s practice and then sidelined on Thursday and Friday. We’re not expecting him to play, which is a slight boost to TE Hunter Henry’s outlook.

We passed along some hype on Patriots TE Eli Raridon earlier this week. Now The Boston Herald's Andrew Callahan is suggesting that Raridon might be pushing TE Hunter Henry for work. Per Callahan, Raridon got more first-team snaps than Henry in three straight practices, culminating with Tuesday's joint practice with the Colts.

Patriots TE Hunter Henry agreed to a two-year extension worth $16 million with $14.5 million guaranteed and a $4.2 million signing bonus. Henry is entering his age-32 season, so this move likely means Henry stays with the Patriots for the rest of his career. This move locks Henry into the starting role for the foreseeable future despite rookie TE Eli Raridon drawing buzz throughout training camp.

After a relatively quiet start to training camp, Eli Raridon is beginning to look the part. Andrew Callahan of the Boston Herald reported, “The third-round rookie had more receptions from [Drake] Maye than he has in any other practice to date, including during his two-minute drill.” Callahan later added, “He was open and available over the middle, downfield, and on checkdowns.”
