Fox Sports' Ralph Vacchiano came away from the Commanders' joint practice with the Dolphins believing that WR Stefon Diggs will play a big role this season. "His skills and reliability seem as good as ever," Vacchiano wrote. "It also looks like he could be a high-volume receiver for the Commanders. Yes, they still have Terry McLaurin, too. But Diggs could be a [Jayden] Daniels favorite, running a lot of underneath routes that he could potentially turn into big plays."

We read rosy reports earlier this week about TE Chig Okonkwo and WR Treylon Burks at Commanders camp, but the team clearly believed it needed a pass-catching upgrade. So Wednesday brought an agreement with veteran WR Stefon Diggs, according to multiple reports. ESPN's Adam Schefter says it's a one-year deal worth "up to $12 million."

The Patriots will be releasing WR Stefon Diggs when the new league year begins next week. NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reports that the veteran WR is due $1.7 million in fully guaranteed money for the coming season, with another $6 million set to become guaranteed next week if he remained on the roster.

Stefon Diggs Facing Assault Charges
New England Patriots WR Stefon Diggs is facing felony strangulation or suffocation and assault charges stemming from an incident that occurred on December 2, following the team's Monday Night Football game against the New York Giants. Diggs is scheduled to be arraigned on January 22. Per the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the team released a statement: "The New England Patriots are aware of the accusations that have been made regarding Stefon Diggs. Stefon has informed the organization that he categorically denies the allegations. We support Stefon. We will continue to gather information and will cooperate fully with the appropriate authorities and the NFL as necessary. Out of respect for all parties involved, and given that this is an ongoing legal matter, we will have no further comment at this time.”
