KC Concepcion Dynasty Value: Difficult to Catch, Impossible to Cover
QUICK LINKS:
Concepcion delivered a jaw-dropping freshman season at N.C. State, immediately establishing himself as the engine of their offense.
Beyond the team-leading production, he flashed dynamic run-after-catch ability that carried over to his 2025 stop at Texas A&M.
Concepcion lacks prototypical size at 5’11, 190 pounds, but his route running, separation ability, and creativity with the ball consistently stress defenses. NFL teams value those traits early, especially in modern passing games built around space and efficiency.
Let’s untangle Concepcion’s full profile and assess how he stacks up within the 2026 rookie class.

A Stunning Freshman Season
Concepcion committed to N.C. State over North Carolina, Penn State, Michigan State, and others.
The Charlotte native immediately became the Wolfpack’s primary option. With sixth-year QB Brennan Armstrong under center, a 19-year-old Concepcion posted dominant market shares across the board.
He accounted for:
- 29.0% of the targets
- 31.6% of the catches
- 33.2% of the receiving yards
- and 52.6% of the receiving TDs.
He even became the first true freshman in a decade to lead N.C. State in receiving.
The efficiency looked just as encouraging. Concepcion paired a 68.4% catch rate with 2.32 yards per route run.
And if that wasn’t enough, Concepcion added 320 yards on 41 carries.
The breakout established his ability. But 2024 presented new challenges.
Year 2? Not So Great
Concepcion erupted for 9 catches, 121 yards, and three scores in the opening week of 2024.
Unfortunately, that one game went on to account for 26.3% of his season-long yards and 50% of his season TD total.
Starting QB Grayson McCall made only four appearances due to injury. And per CBS’ Chip Patterson, Concepcion played through “minor injury issues.”
Those factors surely contributed to a decline in production. His catches per game dipped from 5.4 to 4.4, while his yards per game dropped from 64.5 to 38.3.
Even the volume lagged. His 29% target share from 2023 fell to 24.3%.
Concepcion responded by entering the transfer portal last winter. After visiting several top programs, he landed at Texas A&M.
The move offered a chance to reset his profile and re-establish his NFL upside in a new role.
New Home Re-ignites the Production
OC Collin Klein singled out Concepcion during spring practice, emphasizing his versatility and competitiveness.
“We have moved him all over the place,” Klein said via 247Sports. “He is playing all over the field, making plays. One of the best competitors I have been around at the receiver position. So really, really excited about him.”
Klein carried that over to a role shift for the wideout. After operating primarily from the slot earlier in his career, Concepcion ran 65.3% of his routes out wide for Texas A&M. That adjustment unlocked more vertical usage, spiking his aDOT to 12.3.
The result? A career high in yards per catch (15.1) and yards per route run (2.46). In fact, Concepcion led the Aggies across the board with 61 catches, 919 yards, and 9 TDs.
His market shares didn’t rise to the level of his freshman season, but they proved strong enough:
- 26.4% target share
- 24.5% reception share
- 27.2% receiving yards share
- 34.6% receiving TD share
So, how might Concepcion’s skill set translate to the pros? And where does he still need refinement?
Let’s review the tape for answers.
KC Concepcion Highlights
Games Watched: Tennessee (2024), Clemson (2024), Notre Dame (2025), Mississippi State (2025), Florida (2025), Arkansas (2025), LSU (2025), Missouri (2025), South Carolina (2025), Texas (2025), Miami (2025)
Concepcion’s elite speed and athleticism pop on his highlight reel.
Creates Space and Finishes Through Contact
Concepcion runs a sharp route against zone coverage on this play, creating separation from both levels of the defense. He creates space on the outside for QB Marcel Reed to place the ball, but the throw ends up behind him.
Concepcion tracks the ball well and makes a leaping grab. He catches it and turns in the air, trying to land on his feet. He falls upon contact with the ground and the defender.
Concepcion consistently shows the ability to find holes in zone coverage through savvy cuts and vision.
Give Him Room, and He Can Put on a Show
Concepcion showcases elite after-catch ability, making him a dynamic weapon on screen passes. He identifies where to cut upfield on this play despite a defender weaving through blocks to make contact.
Concepcion gets low through the contact and slips the tackle while maintaining top speed. He barely slows down, gets his jersey grabbed, and still zooms away from the defense.
Concepcion also excels as a punt returner, putting those after-catch skills to further use. His draft stock should benefit from his ability to contribute on special teams.
Should We Just Hand Him the Ball?
Concepcion also excels as a runner on jet sweeps and end-arounds and should continue to be used as an all-around weapon in the NFL.
He takes this jet sweep and makes the unblocked safety miss with east-west explosiveness. Concepcion shifts away from incoming contact while keeping his eyes up to identify a lane toward the end zone.
He uses his footwork to break free from the tackler and build acceleration, which propels him into the end zone through contact.
Overall, Concepcion shows good rushing technique, angles, vision, and some power.
Subtle Savvy Separates Concepcion
Concepcion runs a hitch route against zone coverage tight to the outside linebacker in this clip. He holds his position despite weighing only 190 pounds. A well-placed pass to his outside shoulder allows Concepcion to secure the catch and turn upfield.
He scoots past the CB, who expects Concepcion to turn immediately upfield. Concepcion reaches the sideline and claims a few extra yards as he gets wrapped up.
Concepcion’s ball tracking and hands, combined with his savvy angles after the catch, make him especially dangerous.
KC Concepcion Team Fit: Cleveland Browns
The Browns need WR help.
Jerry Jeudy led the group last season with just 50 catches, 602 yards, and 2 TDs on 106 targets. He’s under contract, but it’s unclear how central he’ll be to new HC Todd Monken’s plans.
Cedric Tillman offers intriguing size and athleticism, but durability remains a concern. He missed five games in 2025 and has now sustained three documented concussions dating back to college.
That leaves an opening for an immediate contributor. Concepcion projects to come off the board late in Round 1, which would fit Cleveland’s No. 24 overall pick. We’re not bullish on Shedeur Sanders’ long-term outlook, but the Browns could find their QB in a stronger-looking 2027 draft class and/or target a “bridge” type this offseason.
In the meantime, adding a WR capable of separating early would make sense for both the present and future.
Dynasty Value Conclusion: This Guy’s Made for Modern Offenses
WR value in dynasty often comes down to context. Offensive philosophy, QB play, and surrounding talent can elevate or suppress production.
Concepcion’s college career showed a player capable of commanding targets. He posted a true freshman breakout, exhibits positional versatility, and ranks among the best in this class with the ball in his hands.
That combination – plus potential Round 1 draft capital – should earn him a role quickly. Landing spot will impact his ceiling, but the floor looks sturdy, especially in PPR.
Concepcion slots fourth in our dynasty rookie WR rankings.
