2025 Fantasy Football Impact

Fant played in all but three games for Seattle over his three seasons there, with all three misses coming last season (groin injury).

He ranked third on the team in targets (63), receptions (50), and receiving yards (486) in his first Seahawks campaign. That usage fell off in 2023, though, when Fant averaged a career-low 1.9 receptions and 24.4 yards per game.

His 2024 marked a rebound (3.4 and 35.7) but found him just fourth on the team in each category and a mere 18 catches ahead of rookie TE A.J. Barner.

Fant still won't turn 28 until Nov. 20 and will surely land with another team. There's room for him to regain fantasy relevance. He reached 90 targets in two of three Denver seasons before the trade and topped 4 receptions per game each of those two years.

Seattle, meanwhile, figures to spread TE targets among Barner, second-round rookie Elijah Arroyo, and veteran Eric Saubert.

These Seahawks also appear likely to lean run more than last year's version, which makes it tough to expect much 2025 fantasy impact from any individual TE.

We'll see where Fant goes before projecting his 2025 outlook.

Dynasty Impact

The Fant release would seem to be good long-term news for Arroyo, but Fant's contract was already set to end after this season. So we didn't expect Arroyo to continue contending with Fant in 2026 or beyond.

We'll see exactly how playing time and targets align between Barner and Arroyo. Barner's rookie deal runs through 2027.

There could be room for Barner and Arroyo to fit together in the offense, with Barner a more traditional TE and Arroyo a large WR. But will Seattle throw enough to support two TEs?
