Texans rookie RB Woody Marks nearly matched starter Nick Chubb in playing time in Sunday's loss at Jacksonville. Marks played 30 snaps to Chubb's 33, according to Pro Football Focus. That included running 19 routes to Chubb's 17, though the veteran beat him 4-2 in targets. Marks also logged six carries to Chubb's nine and posted 27 rushing yards. His 4.5 yards per carry edged Chubb's 4.2.
Marks' playing time (47.6%) marked a second straight large increase. The rookie climbed from 11% snap share in the opener to 26.5% in Week 2. That latter game also found Marks delivering the team's longest gain with a 37-yard catch.

Marks' playing time boost came at the expense of Dare Ogunbowale, who was active but didn't play an offensive snap.
The rookie will still need Chubb to lose ground if he's to find fantasy relevance. But the elevation can only be good news in a needy offense, especially with still no sign of an approaching return by RB Joe Mixon.
Marks looks stashable as a reserve in just about any league of 12+ teams.
