David Montgomery "Week To Week" With Groin Injury
Texans HC DeMeco Ryans called RB David Montgomery "week to week" with the groin injury that knocked him out of Sunday's win over the Titans. Montgomery is very likely to miss Week 6, and Houston's Week 8 bye might also have him more likely than not to miss Week 7. RB Woody Marks stepped into a workhorse role against Tennessee, carrying 15 times for 62 yards and catching all 4 of his targets for 23 yards. We expect the Texans to elevate RB Jawhar Jordan from the practice squad, but Marks figures to handle more of the backfield work against the Jaguars this weekend. That's a brutal matchup, but volume will put Marks in play as a RB2/3 in fantasy lineups.

The Texans acquired veteran David Montgomery from Detroit and guaranteed him $10 million on a two-year extension that runs through 2027. That seemed to slot the former Lion clearly ahead of second-year incumbent Woody Marks, but the young guy has seemed to build recent momentum. Now it appears we might be looking at an even split.
