Bo Nix Goes Wild in the Fourth Quarter

Broncos QB Bo Nix went off for 279 passing yards and 4 total scores in Sunday’s stunning comeback win over the Giants. Nix recorded 170 passing yards and all four TDs in the fourth quarter alone, supporting the QB1 fantasy finish for Week 7.

        What They're Saying

Here's Nix after the stunning win:

"I don't even know how we scored 33 points in a quarter, that's kind of insane,'' he said via ESPN. "It's just whatever we had to get done, we did it ... By any means necessary."

        2025 Fantasy Football Impact

Per Next Gen Stats, Denver's win probability was as low as 0.7% around the midway point of the final quarter. This was one of the most shocking results that you’ll ever see on an NFL field.

How'd this team fall behind at home ... against the Giants? Nix and the Broncos really struggled early on, failing to score until the fourth quarter. Nix failed to convert on any of his first five passes of 20+ air yards, including one that was a near miss to Marvin Mims in the end zone.

Eventually, though Nix caught fire, accounting for all four of Denver’s fourth quarter scores. First, he scored on a zone read attempt from 7 yards out. Later, he dashed in from the 18 yard-line on a well-blocked designed rush off left tackle.

Nix supplemented the rushing scores with passing TDs to Troy Franklin and RJ Harvey. The score to Franklin was a stroke of good luck. Nix’s goal line pass was actually intended for a well-covered Courtland Sutton, but the ball was perfectly tipped to Franklin. Nix later hit Harvey on a beautiful play-action rollout to the flat.

The huge quarter boosted the receiving numbers for Sutton, who led the team with 6 catches for 87 yards. He tied for the team lead in targets (10) with Franklin, who mustered only 3 grabs for 19 yards and his one score. Several inaccurate deep balls account for the poor catch rate and signal would could have been a much more productive day.

As usual, Sutton (93%) and Franklin (73%) led this unit in route rate. Marvin Mims (59%) played ahead of rookie Pat Bryant (45%), whose involvement had increased in recent weeks.

Week 8 turns up a positive home matchup with Dallas, but Mims and Franklin still project as volatile fantasy starters given their season-long production. Sutton remains a weekly fantasy WR2/3.
