Detroit Lions RB Jahmyr Gibbs delivered one of the best fantasy performances of the season on Monday Night Football. Gibbs produced 218 scrimmage yards and a pair of TDs to help lead the Lions to an easy 24-9 victory over Tampa Bay. Gibbs rushed 17 times for 136 yards and 2 scores and caught 3 balls for another 82 yards in the win.
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Gibbs' 218 scrimmage yards were the most by a Detroit player since 2013. And per Lions PR, Gibbs is just the 10th player in NFL history to produce 135-plus rushing yards, 80 receiving yards, and 2 TDs in a game.
Gibbs hit those marks with over 4 minutes left in the third quarter.
The biggest play for Gibbs came in the second quarter when he sprinted 78 yards to the end zone untouched to put the Lions up 14-0. He later added a 5-yard score in the third quarter.
Gibbs once again led Detroit's backfield in playing time and touches. David Montgomery accounted for just 21 yards on 13 carries and caught a pair of passes for 18 yards.
Montgomery was out-snapped by Gibbs 38-30 on Monday, marking the sixth time in seven weeks that Gibbs has seen more snaps. The only week Montgomery played more than Gibbs (by 1 snap) was Week 5, when the Lions were trying to salt the game away versus the Bengals.
Moving forward, Montgomery should be viewed as a TD-dependent RB3/flex option, while Gibbs remains an elite top-3 weekly option.
