NFL Network's Ian Rapoport confirms that Giants RB Cam Skattebo will miss the rest of the season with a dislocated ankle. Skattebo underwent surgery on Sunday night at a Philadelphia-area hospital. "If all is good and clean and the surgery went as well as everyone believes, he should be back with no issues for next year," Rapoport adds. "It's a gruesome injury, but the recovery is actually not as bad."
Dynasty Impact
It sounds like Skattebo dodged any additional damage to his ankle and leg, which is good news for his long-term prognosis.
He's a dynasty hold -- and potentially a buy for teams that aren't contending this season. Skattebo was a Day 3 pick, so he's certainly not guaranteed the starting job in 2026. But the Giants have plenty of other holes to address this offseason. We'd be surprised if they made a major investment at RB.
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Skattebo's absence leaves Tyrone Tracy as New York's lead back going forward. He handled seven carries and two targets to RB Devin Singletary's two carries and one target after Skattebo went down in Philadelphia.
Tracy looks like a lower-end RB2 going forward and is likely the top target on your waiver wire this week.
