Ollie Gordon II Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Dolphins RB Jaylen Wright had a "minor procedure" and is now expected to miss multiple games, HC Mike McDaniel said Thursday. The goal is a “Septemberish” return, McDaniel added.

Dolphins GM Chris Grier told reporters Wednesday that RB De'Von Achane will be ready for the regular-season opener. NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe recently revealed that Achance has been missing practice time with a calf injury, after the team called it merely a "lower-body" issue.

Dolphins’ RB Jaylen Wright is not expected to play Week 1, according to Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN. Wright suffered a leg injury during joint practice and remains week-to-week.

Dolphins RB Jaylen Wright is "week to week," HC Mike McDaniel said Saturday. The second-year back is believed to be dealing with a leg injury suffered on Thursday. According to ESPN's Marcel Louis-Jacques, McDaniel "added that the team is evaluating a few things procedurally" with Wright. That suggests the team might be considering placing him on short-term IR, which would free up a roster spot but knock Wright out for the first four games of the season.

With RB De’Von Achane already sidelined with a soft tissue calf injury, the Dolphins didn’t need another RB to go down. RB Jaylen Wright walked off the practice field slowly and was taken into the medical facility for more evaluation. Rookie Ollie Gordon II replaced him at practice.

Dolphins’ RB De’Von Achane is dealing with a calf injury that will likely keep him out of practice this week, according to Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.

Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel revealed Saturday that RB De'Von Achane is dealing with a "soft-tissue lower-body injury," according to NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe. McDaniel said the injury will sideline Achane "between 'days and weeks,'" according to the report. McDaniel says he's not worried about Achane being ready for the regular-season opener.

Miami RB Alexander Mattison suffered a neck injury that requires season-ending surgery, according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.

The Miami Dolphins selected Oklahoma State RB Ollie Gordon II with the 179th pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Gordon appeared on track to be one of the top RBs in this class in 2023. He won the Doak Walker Award as the best RB in the nation after rushing for 1,732 yards on 285 carries and 21 TDs. He also ranked third on the team in receptions. Then 2024 happened. Oklahoma State’s talent on offense fell off. Gordon tried to carry the team but could only muster 880 yards on 190 carries. He looked slower and less decisive than he did in 2023. Now, Gordon’s ‘23 production and an excellent Senior Bowl week breathe some life into his fantasy potential. But he’ll need to win more with his size (6’1, 226) than his athletic ability. He tested as an average athlete at the NFL Combine, hurt by a 4.61 forty time and a 1.60 ten-yard split.

Former Oklahoma State RB Ollie Gordon II had a mediocre NFL Combine running a 4.61 40-yard dash along with a 34.5" Vertical (61st Percentile) and 10'00 Broad Jump (71st Percentile). He came in at 6'1 3/8 and 226 pounds, so expectations weren't high. But, this performance may push Gordon out of the top-100 of the NFL Draft.
