Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Chiefs WRs Rashee Rice (hamstring) and Kadarius Toney (hip, ankle) are out for Sunday's game vs. the Chargers. Rice would presumably be playing if this game meant anything, but we'll track his status during next week's prep for the Wild Card Round. Kansas City will have WRs Justin Watson, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Richie James, Mecole Hardman, and Justyn Ross available on Sunday.
Chiefs WR Kadarius Toney (hip) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Bengals. Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Rashee Rice, and Justin Watson operated as Kansas City’s top three WRs last week, with Richie James as the No. 4.
Chiefs WR Kadarius Toney (ankle, hip) has been ruled out for Sunday's game vs. the Raiders. With WR Mecole Hardman (thumb) on IR, the Chiefs are down to five WRs: Rashee Rice, Justin Watson, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Skyy Moore, and Richie James. Rice remains the top fantasy option here but still ran a route on just 52% of pass plays coming off the bye last week. Watson led the way with a 66% route rate and 11 targets in that loss to the Eagles but would still be tough to trust in Week 12 fantasy lineups.
Chiefs WR Kadarius Toney (toe) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Bears. He only got in a limited practice on Friday and would be a high-risk fantasy play if he ends up active for this one. WR Richie James (knee) has been ruled out.
Chiefs WR Richie James was the standout of Sunday's training camp practice. HC Andy Reid noted that James has picked up the offense quickly after working with former Chiefs QBs coach and current Giants OC Mike Kafka in New York last year. "So he didn't have to go through and learn everything here," Reid said. "Just maybe a few new things, and I like what I've seen from him. He's a good football player, has a great feel for things." James is coming off a career-best 57-569-4 line with the Giants last year and has the opportunity to carve out a real role in a wide-open Chiefs WR corps.
The Chiefs signed WR Richie James. Turning 28 in September, James set career highs across the board with the Giants last year, snagging 57 balls for 569 yards and four TDs. He ranked a respectable 36th in Pro Football Focus receiving grade and 37th in yards per route run among 80 qualifying WRs. This is about as strong a fantasy landing spot James could have hoped for -- alongside Patrick Mahomes and with only Kadarius Toney, Skyy Moore, and Marquez Valdes-Scantling to battle with for snaps as of now. We'll see if the draft brings more competition to the WR room.
Giants WR Richie James hauled in 7 of 10 targets for 51 yards in Saturday's Divisional Round loss vs. the Eagles. No other Giants pass-catcher recorded more than 2 receptions in this contest. The Giants' WR corps stands out as a weak spot on their roster when looking back on the season and is likely to look very different in 2023. It's tough to project anyone's future on this roster beyond WR Wan'Dale Robinson, the rookie who saw his season derailed by multiple knee injuries. On top of that, we also don't know if QB Daniel Jones will re-sign with the team. The resurgent, HC Brian Daboll-led Giants will be a fascinating team to follow this offseason as they look to capitalize on this season's success.
The New York Post's Ryan Dunleavy reports that the Giants are expected to sit "key starters" in Sunday's regular-season finale vs. the Eagles. New York is locked into the NFC's #6 seed and has nothing to play for. We've been projecting QB Daniel Jones and RB Saquon Barkley to sit all week. Look for QB Tyrod Taylor to get the start and for RBs Matt Breida and Gary Brightwell to handle backfield duties. WRs Darius Slayton, Isaiah Hodgins and Richie James could also be held out or be pulled early in Sunday's game.
Giants QB Daniel Jones threw for 177 yards and 2 TDs in Sunday's 38-10 beatdown of the Colts. He added 91 yards and 2 more scores on the ground. Jones hit WR Richie James and WR Isaiah Hodgins for TDs. James caught all 7 of his team-high 7 targets for a team-leading 76 yards. Hodgins ranked 2nd on the team in targets (5) and receptions (4), totaling 42 yards. TE Daniel Bellinger (3-42) was the only other Giant to catch more than 2 passes. This was Jones' 1st game all season with more than 2 total TDs. The Giants clinched a playoff spot with the victory. We'll see what they have to play for in a Week 18 visit to the Eagles.
The Giants WRs are nothing to write home about in the aftermath of Sunday's win vs. the Commanders. Giants WR Richie James led all pass-catchers with 42 yards, hauling in 4 of 5 targets. Isaiah Hodgins was not far behind with 4 receptions and 37 yards. Darius Slayton also participated in the game and hauled in 5 of his 7 targets for 23 yards. Even with a plus-matchup on the horizon against a Vikings defense that presents the 2nd-best matchup for WRs this season, fantasy managers should not be champing at the bit to roll out any of these WRs in Week 16 lineups. James, Slayton, and Hodgins are nothing more than deep-league flex/WR4 options.
Giants WR Richie James has cleared concussion protocol and will play vs. the Commanders on Sunday night. He caught 3 of 3 targets for 20 yards against Washington a couple of weeks ago. He's a basement-level PPR option.
Giants WR Richie James (concussion) is listed as questionable for Sunday night’s game vs. the Commanders. He was a full participant in Friday’s practice, so he’s seemingly on track to be cleared and play. James, of course, is just a low-upside play in PPR leagues. He caught 3 balls for 20 yards against Washington a couple of weeks ago.
Giants WR Richie James (concussion) did not practice on Wednesday. We'll see if he can clear through the protocol in time for Sunday night's big game vs. the Commanders, but he shouldn't be in your fantasy plans right now.
Giants WR Richie James is in concussion protocol, HC Brian Daboll said Monday. That puts James' availability for this weekend's game vs. Washington in question. We'll track his status throughout the week.
WR Richie James led the Giants in targets (9), receptions (7) and receiving yards (61) in Sunday's loss to the Eagles. He capped it off with 2 catches on the final drive from QB Tyrod Taylor after New York pulled QB Daniel Jones -- including the Giants' final TD. WR Isaiah Hodgins checked in 2nd with 6 targets and 4 catches. His 38 yards ranked 3rd behind WR Darius Slayton (2-42 on 3 targets). Hodgins also caught Jones' lone TD pass, marking the young wideout's 2nd straight game with a TD. TE Daniel Bellinger managed just 3-19 receiving on 3 targets in his 2nd game back from an eye injury.
Giants WR Richie James (knee) is active for today’s game vs. the Commanders. He got in limited practices on Thursday and Friday. James is a low-upside PPR play.
Giants WR Richie James (knee) is listed as questionable for this weekend's game vs. the Commanders. He got in limited practices on Thursday and Friday and should be available come Sunday. But he's a weak fantasy play at less than 100%.
