Texans RB Woody Marks (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday. He briefly exited vs. the Colts with this injury but was able to return and finish out the game. Marks should be available for Sunday night's game vs. the Chiefs, but we'll keep you updated on his status. His absence would turn RB Nick Chubb into a low-level fantasy option.
Woody Marks rushed a career-high 19 times for 64 yards and caught his only target for 3 yards in Houston's 20-16 victory over the Indianapolis Colts. Marks briefly exited the game with a foot injury but returned to play 41 of the Texans' 76 snaps (54%).
Texans RB Woody Marks suffered a foot injury in the first quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Colts. He's officially questionable to return. Marks' absence leaves Nick Chubb as Houston's lead back. We'll update the rookie's status when we know more.
Update: Marks returned midway through the second quarter.
Texans RB Woody Marks delivered a decent fantasy outing in Thursday night's win over the Bills. The rookie carried 16 times for 74 yards -- good for 4.6 yards per carry. He broke off a 19-yarder on a pitch off right tackle in the first quarter. Marks couldn't beat S Jordan Poyer to get into the end zone, though, and Houston wound up settling for a FG. Marks ran with good balance and power throughout the night, picking multiple key third and fourth downs. But he failed to get into the end zone and lost five yards on his only catch.
Texans RB Joe Mixon (foot) is not expected to return this season, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. That's seemed pretty clear for a while now, but it's nice to get confirmation. We still know very little about the offseason foot injury that will evidently cost Mixon the entire 2025 campaign. He's signed with Houston next year, but Rapoport notes that the team can save $8.5 million in cap space by releasing Mixon after the start of the 2026 league year. Mixon will turn 30 in July and is not a must-hold on dynasty rosters. Rookie Woody Marks figures to operate as Houston's clear lead back the rest of the season.
One week after scoring 26 unanswered points in a come-from-behind victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Texans' offense had a sluggish day against the AFC South's last-place team. However, one positive takeaway from Houston's unimpressive outing was Woody Marks' second-straight game being utilized as the team's featured back. Marks played 65.7% of Houston's snaps and commanded 18 of the Texans 21 RB carries in their 16-13 vicotry.
Texans RB Woody Marks suffered a right leg injury in the first quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Jaguars. He appeared to grab at his Achilles as he tried to get off the field, but we'll update the rookie's status when we learn more.
Update: Marks returned on Houston's next possession. Exhale!
Texans RB Nick Chubb (foot) is not listed on the final injury report after putting in a full practice on Friday. He should be ready for his usual committee role alongside RB Woody Marks in this weekend’s game vs. the Jaguars.
Texans RB Nick Chubb (foot) did not practice on Wednesday. We don't have any other info on the foot ailment but will keep tabs on Chubb's status over the next few days. It's worth remembering that his 2024 season ended with a broken foot in Week 15. Chubb's absence vs. the Jaguars this weekend would boost RB Woody Marks' fantasy value and make him a strong RB2 play.
Texans RB Woody Marks (calf) is off the final Week 9 injury report. He was added on Thursday and limited in practice but returned to a full workout on Friday. Marks should be ready for his usual committee role alongside RB Nick Chubb vs. the Broncos on Sunday.
Texans RB Woody Marks was added to the injury report with a calf and limited in Thursday's practice. That likely means the calf started giving him trouble today. We'll look for further updates on the rookie and see if he's able to practice tomorrow. Marks' absence would boost RB Nick Chubb's Week 9 fantasy value.
Texans rookie RB Woody Marks trailed teammate Nick Chubb in carries for Sunday's win over the 49ers, but the rookie led in just about every other category. Marks took his 11 carries for 62 yards (5.6 per rush), compared with Chubb's 17 attempts for 56 yards (3.3 per rush). Marks also claimed four of the seven backfield targets, catching all four for 49 yards. Chubb caught both of his targets for 13 yards. Dare Ogunbowale followed them with one, 9-yard carry and a catch for 8 yards on his only target.
Texans rookie RB Woody Marks led the team with 10 carries in Monday night's loss at Seattle. He added 3 catches for 20 yards and a TD on five targets, also leading Nick Chubb in that area. Chubb ran for 16 yards on five carries and caught one of three targets for a five-yard loss.
Texans GM Nick Caserio said Tuesday that RB Joe Mixon is "making progress" with his ankle injury. "Over the next few weeks, we’ll have a better idea," Caserio added. It's the first positive report we've heard on Mixon since July. Fantasy managers still should not be counting on Mixon this season, but it at least sounds like there's a chance we see him on the field at some point. That would complicate matters for RBs Woody Marks and Nick Chubb.
Texans RBs Nick Chubb and Woody Marks split their snaps pretty evenly on Sunday. Chubb had 24 snaps with 9 routes run while Marks had 27 snaps with 13 routes won. Chubb ultimately ended with the better fantasy day rushing with 11-61-1. Marks day ended up as only 7-24-0. Neither player caught their lone target.
