Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Chiefs WR Xavier Worthy returned from his shoulder injury with a bang. He ended the game with a team-leading eight targets. His final stat line of 5-83 was a solid fantasy day, despite not finding the end zone. He also had two runs for 38 yards including a 35-yard scamper. He did all this while playing limited snaps. Worthy’s 43 snaps ranked well below Juju Smith-Schuster who led the Chiefs’ WRs with 57 snaps. But Worthy’s presence seemed to ignite a Chiefs’ passing game that was dormant. QB Patrick Mahomes threw for 270 yards and 4 TDsin the game.
Chiefs WR Xavier Worthy (shoulder) put in a full week of practice and is not listed on the final injury report for Sunday’s game vs. the Ravens. He’ll likely be playing with a harness on his injured shoulder, and there’s a chance his snaps are limited. We’ll look for any information on Kansas City’s plans for Worthy in this game, but consider him a risk/reward WR3 for now.
Chiefs WR Xavier Worthy (shoulder) put in a full practice on Wednesday for the first time since going down in Week 1. That should have him on track to return for Sunday's showdown with the Ravens. Worthy will likely be playing with a harness on that shoulder that will restrict mobility, and his snaps could be limited. We'll look for more clues about his Week 4 usage, but he shapes up as a risk/reward WR3 or Flex.
The Chiefs have downgraded WR Xavier Worthy to out for Sunday night's game against the Giants, and he is not traveling with the team, according to multiple reports. Kansas City initially listed Worthy as questionable after a limited practice participation all week. But the team has clearly deemed the wideout not yet ready to play.
Chiefs WR Xavier Worthy (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Sunday night’s game vs. the Giants. He was limited in practice all week. HC Andy Reid said Friday that they’ll “see how it goes” regarding Worthy’s availability for this one. The late kickoff could put Worthy owners in a tricky spot. We’ll look for further updates on his status. WR Jalen Royals (knee) is also listed as questionable but put in full practices on Thursday and Friday. He should be ready to make his NFL debut on Sunday night.
A source tells ESPN's Jeremy Fowler that Chiefs WR Xavier Worthy (shoulder) is "50/50" for Sunday night's game against the Giants. Worthy was limited in Wednesday's practice. "Have to see how he looks with real practice reps," the source added. We'll keep an eye on Worthy's progress over the next few days, but the late kickoff could make this a tricky situation for fantasy owners.
Chiefs WR Xavier Worthy (shoulder) was limited in Wednesday's practice. He also got in limited practices last Thursday and Friday, and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said earlier this week that Worthy is on track to return for Sunday night's game vs. the Giants. We'll keep you updated on his progress leading up to that one. We're ranking Worthy conservatively for Week 3 for now. WR Jalen Royals (knee) was also limited on Wednesday and has a chance to make his NFL debut this weekend.
Chiefs WR Xavier Worthy (shoulder) is "looking good" to play in Week 3, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Rapoport adds that Worthy would play with a harness to protect a fully torn labrum. We have to believe that Worthy will be at considerable risk of re-injuring that shoulder. But we'll look for further updates on his status and track his practice participation next week.
Chiefs WR Xavier Worthy (shoulder) has been downgraded to out for Sunday's game vs. the Eagles. He was originally listed as doubtful after getting in limited practices on Thursday and Friday. Worthy was never going to play in this one, but it does seem like he has a shot to return for Week 3. His absence on Sunday leaves Marquise Brown as Kansas City's No. 1 WR -- and a top-25 play in the Week 2 WR rankings.
Chiefs WR Xavier Worthy (shoulder) is listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game vs. the Eagles. He practiced on Thursday and Friday, and the fact that he’s not already ruled out bodes well for his chances of playing Week 3. But he’ll miss this weekend’s game, leaving Marquise Brown, JuJu Smith-Schuster, and Tyquan Thornton as Kansas City’s top 3 WRs. WR Jalen Royals (knee) is out.
Chiefs WR Xavier Worthy (shoulder) returned to a limited practice on Thursday. We still wouldn't be counting on him playing vs. the Eagles this weekend, but we'll see what he does in Friday's practice and how he's listed on the final injury report.
Chiefs WR Xavier Worthy won't have surgery on his injured shoulder and won't be placed on IR, HC Andy Reid said Wednesday. That means the team expects Worthy to miss fewer than four games.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said Sunday morning that the Chiefs were deciding whether to have WR Xavier Worthy rehab his shoulder injury or undergo surgery. The latter option could have cost Worthy the rest of the season. But it sounds like Worthy has opted for the rehab route. “He’s rehabbing and working his shoulder, we’ll see where it goes, day by day," HC Andy Reid said Monday. We'll look for a timeline for Worthy's return, but fantasy owners should hang on to him through this week's waiver run.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that Chiefs WR Xavier Worthy suffered a dislocated shoulder in Friday night's loss to the Chargers and is still seeking a second opinion on how to proceed. It's not yet clear how much time Worthy will miss.
