Chris Olave Back At Practice

Chris Olave Back At Practice

Saints WR Chris Olave (head) put in a limited practice on Thursday -- his first since sustaining his fifth documented concussion on November 3. Interim HC Darren Rizzi called Olave "doubtful" to play vs. the Packers on Monday night, but perhaps he'll make it back for Week 17 or 18. Considering his lengthy layoff and the Saints' QB situation, Olave would be very difficult to trust in Week 17 fantasy lineups.

The Saints are expected to place WR Chris Olave on IR ahead of Sunday's game against the Falcons, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. That would obviously mean at least four games down for Olave following his fifth career concussion. But he also might not play again this season.

Saints WR Chris Olave (concussion) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Falcons. Interim HC Darren Rizzi said Friday that the team is still considering placing Olave on IR after his fifth documented concussion. That decision would likely come on Saturday. Stay tuned.

Saints WR Chris Olave is consulting specialists after sustaining his fifth documented concussion -- and second this season -- in the Week 9 loss to the Panthers. “We’re more worried about Chris Olave the person and making sure that everything’s good,” interim HC Darren Rizzi said Wednesday. “Then once he goes through that process, we’ll bring it back to football to see how that fits in. When I say day to day, it sounds like coach-speak. He’s kind of seeing some specialists and we’ll go through the process." Olave won't play vs. the Falcons this weekend, and we wouldn't be surprised if he lands on IR later this week. Try to keep him stashed on fantasy benches for now -- but plan to be without him for multiple weeks.

Saints WR Chris Olave suffered an apparent concussion in the first quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Panthers. Olave has sustained four documented concussions, including one in Week 6 of this season. He could be looking at an extended absence.

Update: Olave has been ruled out with a concussion. "He has movement in all extremities and is undergoing further evaluation at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center," the team said in a statement.
