Dolphins QB Skylar Thompson was knocked out in the third quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Seahawks. Thompson took five sacks and numerous other big hits. He's been replaced by QB Tim Boyle. Miami recently signed QB Snoop Huntley, who is active as the emergency third QB today.

Update: Thompson has been ruled out with a chest injury.

Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa has been placed on Injured Reserve after the concussion that he suffered on Thursday Night Football against the Buffalo Bills. Tagovailoa will miss at least the next four games and may miss more.

The Dolphins are signing QB Tyler Huntley off the Ravens' practice squad, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports. Huntley made nine starts for the Ravens over the last three seasons. He sports a 64.6% career completion rate but just 5.7 yards per attempt and a 2.3% TD rate. He's a plus athlete, though, with 509 rushing yards and three TDs on 4.4 yards per attempt.

Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel didn't even want to talk about a potential timetable for return for QB Tua Tagovailoa after his latest concussion. "The furthest thing from my mind is what is the timeline," McDaniel said after the loss to the Bills. "We just need to evaluate and just worry about my teammate, like the rest of the guys are. We will get more information tomorrow and take it day by day from there." Tagovailoa was able to walk off the field under his own power, has movement in all extremities, and was "in good spirits" afterward, McDaniel said.

Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa suffered an apparent head injury in the third quarter of Thursday night's game vs. the Bills. It's a major concern for a guy who's already suffered at least two concussions (and what seemed like a third in 2022). Miami's backup QB is Skylar Thompson, who's averaged just 5.1 yards per attempt on 105 career passes. Tagovailoa's absence is a big blow to Miami's offense, particularly WRs Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle.

Update: Tagovailoa has been ruled out with a concussion. He'll have 10 days to get cleared for Week 3's game vs. the Seahawks. But, considering his history, he's no better than 50/50 to play in that one.
