        Ladd McConkey Aggravated Foot Injury

Chargers HC Jim Harbaugh confirmed that WR Ladd McConkey aggravated the foot injury that had him listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Seahawks. Harbaugh labeled McConkey "day to day," but don't be surprised if he misses at least one game with this issue. McConkey was ineffective before exiting, failing to catch either of his targets. We'll keep tabs on his status this week, but fantasy owners should make other plans for Week 5 lineups.

        Ladd McConkey Re-Injures Foot

Chargers WR Ladd McConkey is questionable to return to Sunday's game vs. the Seahawks with a foot injury. It's presumably an aggravation of the foot issue that had him questionable coming into this one. We'll update McConkey's status when we know more.

Update: McConkey has been ruled out.

        Ladd McConkey Active

Chargers WR Ladd McConkey (foot) is active for today’s game vs. the Seahawks. He was listed as questionable after only getting in limited practices on Wednesday and Friday. But NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport said this morning that McConkey’s foot injury is not as serious as the rib injury he suffered in Week 1.

Ladd McConkey Expected To Play Week 4

Chargers WR Ladd McConkey (foot) is "likely" to play vs. the Seahawks this afternoon, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. McConkey is listed as questionable after getting in just limited practices on Wednesday and Friday, but Rapoport says this foot injury is not as serious as the rib injury McConkey suffered in Week 1. It still adds some risk to a guy who's already operating in a struggling offense. McConkey lands 28th in our Week 4 WR rankings.

Ladd McConkey Dealing With Foot Injury

Chargers WR Ladd McConkey (foot) went from limited in Wednesday's practice to sidelined on Thursday. ESPN's Kris Rhim spotted McConkey walking with a limp in the locker room afterward. His status for this weekend's game vs. the Seahawks is suddenly in doubt. We'll see if he practices on Friday and then how he's listed on the final injury report.

"Optimism" That Ladd McConkey Plays Week 2

There's "optimism" that Chargers WR Ladd McConkey (rib) will play vs. the Raiders today, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. McConkey is dealing with a cracked rib, per Rapoport, and will wear a flak jacket if suits up. There's serious risk of an in-game setback here if McConkey takes a big hit, but there's also a chance he makes it through the game unaffected by the injury. McConkey was heavily involved before going down last week, catching 5 of 7 targets for 82 yards and a score in a little less than 3 quarters of action.

        Ladd McConkey Won't Practice Wednesday

Chargers WR Ladd McConkey (rib) won't practice on Wednesday, HC Jim Harbaugh said. McConkey dodged a significant injury by all accounts, but NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said Tuesday that his status for this weekend's game vs. the Raiders is "up in the air." We'll see if McConkey can get back on the field tomorrow, but fantasy managers should start making other plans for Week 2 lineups.

Ladd McConkey's Rib Injury Could Cost Him Week 2

Chargers HC Jim Harbaugh called WR Ladd McConkey "day to day" with the rib injury he suffered in the opener. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that McConkey will be monitored throughout the week before a decision is made on his Week 2 availability. "Sounds like his status is up in the air against the Raiders next week," NFL Network's Ian Rapoport adds. McConkey owners should make plans to be without him this week, but it sounds like he avoided a long-term injury. McConkey's absence vs. Vegas on Sunday would leave Quentin Johnston and Tre Harris as the Chargers' top 2 WRs. Harris is worth adding in most fantasy leagues.

        Ladd McConkey Leaves With Injury

Chargers WR Ladd McConkey suffered an apparent left hip or lower back injury in the third quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Cardinals. He was having a big game before going down, catching 5 of 7 targets for 82 yards and a score. We'll update McConkey's status when we know more.

Update: McConkey is officially questionable to return with a chest injury.

Ladd McConkey Has Missed Time With Hamstring Injury

Chargers WR Ladd McConkey revealed Tuesday that he's missed time this offseason with a left hamstring injury. He expects to be ready for the start of training camp in late July. "There's no reason to rush it and really push it and then have another setback and then you bleed into training camp," McConkey said.

        Chargers Looking For New OC

The Chargers fired OC Greg Roman. The offense was disappointing this season, but an injury-wrecked offensive line was a much bigger culprit than Roman's scheme or play-calling. The Chargers lost LT Rashawn Slater to a season-ending torn patellar tendon in August and then watched RT Joe Alt go down with his own season-ending ankle injury in Week 9. Los Angeles finished bottom two in Pro Football Focus' run- and pass-blocking grades and ESPN's run- and pass-blocking win rates. QB Justin Herbert was pressured on a league-high 43.6% of his dropbacks. We'll see who the Chargers tab to replace Roman. But the offensive line should be much better in 2026 with better health. With Herbert, plus RB Omarion Hampton, WRs Ladd McConkey, Quentin Johnston, and Tre Harris, and TE Oronde Gadsden, this is a prime bounce-back offense to target in fantasy drafts.

Justin Herbert's Numbers Lie About One Thing

The Chargers went understandably run heavy in Monday night's OT win over the Eagles. They had QB Justin Herbert just a week removed from surgery for a fracture in his left hand, plus they got rookie RB Omarion Hampton back for the first time since Week 5 (ankle injury). But the final tally of 38 team rushes to just 26 pass attempts obscures the true play breakdown. Herbert ran a season-high 10 times for the game, but that included a season-high eight scrambles vs. just two designed runs. Those designed rushes didn't come until the Chargers' final possession of regulation and then their first of OT. And that fourth-quarter carry was actually designed to go to Vidal. Herbert decided to keep it after seeing a pair of defenders disrupt the blocking.

Quentin Johnston Back to Normal Role

Chargers WR Quentin Johnston managed just 2 catches for 30 yards in Sunday's loss to the Colts. That might make him seem a little left out from a game that included a career-high 420 passing yards from QB Justin Herbert. But Johnston got right back to his normal role after missing week 6 with a hamstring injury.

Quentin Johnston Expected To Miss Week 6

Chargers WR Quentin Johnston (hamstring) is "trending toward" missing today's game vs. the Dolphins, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. Johnston was limited in practice all week, so this doesn't look like a multi-week injury. But he should be on fantasy benches for Week 6. Johnston has accounted for 22.0% of Chargers targets, 21.7% of catches, 32.0% of receiving yards, and 50.0% of receiving TDs through five weeks, so this is a big loss. Justin Herbert is moving a couple of spots down the Week 6 QB rankings but remains a solid start against a leaky Miami secondary. WRs Keenan Allen and Ladd McConkey should see more volume with Johnston out. Rookie WR Tre Harris has been operating as Los Angeles clear No. 4 WR the last four weeks and is the favorite to soak up most of Johnston's snaps today. He'd be a desperation start in season-long leagues but might be worth stashing in you have a bench spot to play with. Harris is also in play for daily tournament lineups.

Ladd McConkey Ready For Week 3

Chargers WR Ladd McConkey (biceps) is not listed on the final injury report for this weekend’s game vs. the Broncos. He sat out on Wednesday but put in full practices on Thursday and Friday, so he should be a full-go for this one. Despite the tough matchup, McConkey remains a rock-solid WR2 in Week 3 fantasy lineups.
