Raiders RB Dylan Laube has impressed the coaching staff early in camp. HC Antonio Pierce called him "special."
HC Antonio Pierce: "That dude is special. I like him. … And he's gritty. He's a gritty RB. One thing - he surprises you with his speed. … He's going to be a difficult matchup, and it's already showing up in practice."
OC Luke Getsy: “He’s off to a great start. The game comes naturally to him. … He doesn’t really have the errors and that’s cool to see from a young guy.”
Laube, a small school RB out of New Hampshire, was a sixth-round pick by the Raiders in this spring's draft.
A pass-catching specialist, Laube gaining praise is key to him making the roster.
The Raiders do have a wide-open RB room, with starter Zamir White and backup Alexander Mattison likely on short leashes.
Laube has upside if he can earn a pass-catching role, and there could be an opening if he shows he is the best back on the team.
Long term, Laube is an intriguing option in PPR leagues.
With this early praise, Laube making the team is the first step to getting on the field and having fantasy value.
Laube is worth a stash on the end of your roster or taxi squad if he earns a pass-catching role.
