The Browns' offensive struggles in Sunday's loss to the Cowboys didn't help RB Jerome Ford, but he salvaged a nice fantasy line with a rushing TD and good receiving volume. Ford scored from 2 yards out with just 29 seconds left amid a 12-44 rushing day. He added a team-high 6 receptions for 25 yards on 7 targets, third-most on the team.
Carrying just 12 times doesn't represent strong rushing volume, but that represented 85.7% of Cleveland's total RB rushes.
Ford will also need to improve on his 3.7 yards per carry, but that came against a Dallas D that finished last year as the fourth-toughest scoring matchup for fantasy RBs.
Ford watched Pierre Strong handle the only other two RB carries and three targets.
Ford played 57 of 76 offensive snaps, with Strong taking 18 and D'Onta Foreman only one.
He'll remain a solid option at Jacksonville next week and then should be a good fantasy option for a Week 3 home date with the Giants.
A Week 4 visit to the Raiders will be the last game before Nick Chubb becomes eligible to return from the PUP list.
Foreman should be dropped wherever you drafted him. Cleveland releasing him on cutdown day and then basically not playing him in the opener shows that he's merely insurance.
A loaded supporting cast, improved QB play, and offensive continuity set the stage for Atlanta to deliver serious fantasy value in 2025.
