Jahan Dotson Allegedly Played in Week 2

Eagles WR Jahan Dotson did -- according to the numbers -- run as the No. 2 WR in A.J. Brown's absence for Monday night's loss to the Falcons. But you wouldn't have had an easy time finding him. Despite running a route on 30 of QB Jalen Hurts' 35 drobacks (85.7%), Dotson drew just 1 target among 30 pass attempts. That trailed DeVonta Smith's team-leading total by nine, fell four short of RB Saquon Barkley, and even checked in five short of No. 3 WR Britain Covey.

        2024 Fantasy Football Impact

The Philadelphia pass offense didn't look good in general vs. Atlanta, after an uneven performance vs. Green Bay in Week 1.

That doesn't excuse Dotson's near-invisible Week 2. But he needs to prove that he's worth any fantasy attention in his third NFL season before he should get it.

Covey, meanwhile, entered the week expected to work behind rookie WR Johnny Wilson and instead drew 6 targets among just 17 routes -- with several of those looks manufactured in the red zone.

Covey gained just 23 yards on his 6 receptions, a putrid 3.8 yards per catch. So his designed touches didn't prove very effective. But his usage further highlighted the lack of spotlight on Dotson.

        Other Winners & Losers

Wilson was questionable for the game after sustaining a hamstring injury during the practice week. That likely impacted his playing time, though Wilson played just one more snap than Covey in Week 1.

Ultimately, we learned Monday night that no Eagles WR beyond Brown and Smith are worth much fantasy attention unless you're playing DFS showdown slates.
