QB Bryce Young is likely to start for the Panthers again this season, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. QB Andy Dalton is taking over for Week 3 against the Raiders, but Rapoport hears Young's benching is viewed as more of a break than a season-long decision.
Rapoport: "Sources say this is viewed as a timeout for Young, not a season-long benching. A time to take a deep breath, let it all slow down, de-stress, and learn by watching. ... The Panthers do still believe that Young can be the guy. They still think he can be the player they drafted him to be. But the road to established starter is not always straight."
It'd certainly make sense for the Panthers to get another look at Young before the end of the season. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that several teams have already expressed interest in trading for Young -- but that Carolina has no plans to trade him right now.
Young is still worth keeping stashed in most 2-QB and superflex leagues. But through 18 NFL starts, there's been nothing to suggest that he's the answer for the Panthers or fantasy teams. We'd use this latest news as an opportunity to trade Young away, even if it's for pennies on the dollar.
