Saints WR Rashid Shaheed went without a catch in Sunday's loss to the Eagles. His 5 targets ranked second on the team, trailing only WR Chris Olave. They constituted 20% of QB Derek Carr's total pass attempts. Carr and Shaheed narrowly missed connecting for a 40-yard TD in the first half. Shaheed also drew a 25-yard look that would have scored had it connected.
2024 Fantasy Football Impact
QB Derek Carr couldn't get much going vs. Philly. He completed just 56% of passes after connecting on 76.9% over the first two weeks.
The target share is noteworthy. It marks three straight weeks of at least 20% for Shaheed. He got just 14.3% target share for his 15 games last year, tying for 70th among WRs.
Carr has attempted 25 passes or fewer in each of the first three games this season. We'll need to get more passing volume from the Saints if he is to support a couple of fantasy-viable wideouts.
Shaheed gets a Week 4 matchup in Atlanta that shouldn't be scary and presents a potentially competitive game. We'll see how the Saints look in that one before looking ahead to a Week 5 visit to Kansas City.
Home dates with the Bucs and Broncos the two weeks after that look attractive.
