The Packers suspended WR Romeo Doubs one game for conduct detrimental to the team. He'll miss Sunday's contest vs. the Rams.
GM Brian Gutekunst: “Unfortunately, we had to make the difficult decision to suspend Romeo for this week’s game. His decisions and actions during the week negatively impacted the team and required us to take this action. While we are certainly disappointed, we are confident that we will be able to move forward in a positive manner. Romeo is a valuable member of our team and we look forward to welcoming him back next week.”
According to Sports Illustrated's Bill Huber, Doubs skipped practice on Thursday and Friday over dissatisfaction with his role. That's surprising considering he leads the Packers in routes and ranks third in targets -- just two behind the team lead.
It sounds like the Packers will welcome Doubs back next week. We'll see if he wants to re-join the team.
His absence tomorrow -- along with WR Christian Watson's -- leaves Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks as Green Bay's clear top two WRs vs. the Rams. Bo Melton and Malik Heath will be the No. 3 and 4 WRs. TE Tucker Kraft will also find more target potential.
