KaVontae Turpin Peppered by Cooper Rush Late

Cowboys WR/RB/return specialist KaVontae Turpin finished a surprising second on the team in targets for Sunday's lopsided loss to the Lions. That was a little deceptive, though, as Turpin drew 4 of his 7 targets after QB Cooper Rush stepped in for Dak Prescott.

2024 Fantasy Football Impact

For the game, Turpin's 20 routes ranked fourth among Cowboys WRs, according to Pro Football Focus. He trailed:

  • Jalen Tolbert 48
  • CeeDee Lamb 37
  • Jalen Brooks 33

At least some of that gap between Tolbert and Lamb can also be traced to Rush's time at the end of the game.

Ultimately, this looks like a throwaway game for judging just about anything in the Dallas offense -- other than noting how poorly the team is capable of playing.

We'll see whether the 3-3 Cowboys are motivated to make any significant changes over their Week 7 bye.
