Chiefs HC Andy Reid told reporters Monday that WR JuJu Smith-Schuster will miss next Sunday's game against the Raiders with the injury to his right hamstring.

2024 Fantasy Football Impact

That Reid is announcing that so early in the week both ...

  1. helps Reid's chances of avoiding fantasy players' wrath in Week 8, and
  2. tells us Smith-Schuster is no lock for Week 9.

We'll obviously have to watch the wideout's progress heading into that matchup with the Bucs.

And we'll be watching extra closely after Smith-Schuster entered Week 7 questionable and made it through just 7 snaps.

His Week 8 absence helps target availability for WRs Xavier Worthy and Justin Watson, as well as TEs Travis Kelce and Noah Gray.

Gray and Kelce tied for the team lead with 4 receptions apiece at San Francisco.
