Colts RB Jonathan Taylor showed no ill effects from his high-ankle sprain in his return on Sunday. He carried 20 times for 105 yards (5.3 YPC) and a TD against a Texans defense that entered allowing just 4.0 yards per carry to RBs. Taylor had four runs of 10+ yards, including a long of 28. He also had a 12-yarder called back by a holding penalty. Taylor handled all 20 RB carries in this one, although he was targeted on just one of QB Anthony Richardson's 32 passes.
2024 Fantasy Football Impact
Taylor has now topped 100 rushing yards in three of his last four games. He went for 88 yards in the other.
That's the good news. The bad news is that QB Anthony Richardson continues to struggle completing passes. That obviously adds downside risk to Taylor's situation.
As long as he can keep getting 20 or so carries per game -- as he has in his last three -- he'll continue posting strong fantasy numbers. His floor is just lower than we'd like from a high-end fantasy back because of Richardson and a small role in the passing game.
Taylor has a tough upcoming schedule, with the Vikings, Jets, and Lions among his next three opponents. All three teams rank top eight in adjusted fantasy points allowed to RBs.
Taylor gets a fairly neutral schedule from Week 13 on, although he has a bye in Week 14.
