Making his Chiefs debut, WR DeAndre Hopkins caught 2 of 3 targets for 29 yards in Week 8. As expected, he played a limited role. Hopkins ranked third among Chiefs WRs in snaps (23) and tied for third in routes run (14).
HC Andy Reid suggested the limited role coming in, so the result wasn’t surprising. The encouraging part was the outing from Patirck Mahomes, who completed 71% of his passes for 262 yards.
The Chiefs have a favorable home matchup against the Bucs in Week 9, followed by a pair of negative matchups vs. Denver and Buffalo. Early in the week, Hopkins projects for WR3 value against Tampa Bay.
