        Jonathon Brooks Tears Same ACL

Panthers RB Jonathon Brooks suffered another tear of his right ACL in Sunday's loss to the Eagles. He suffered the same injury to the same knee last November, which delayed the start to his rookie season.

The timing and fact that it's the second tear of the same ACL makes it tough to expect Brooks to make it back for much 2025 action. We'll have to track his offseason progress to see exactly what we can expect longer term.

Fortunately for the Panthers, they extended RB Chuba Hubbard just last month. Hubbard's in the midst of his best pro season to date and figures to see workhorse usage at least through the rest of this year.

Carolina gets a fairly neutral schedule for RB scoring the rest of the way. Hubbard gets his best remaining matchup in Week 15 but figures to land comfortably inside our top 24 for each remaining week.

The Panthers will need to address the position in some way this offseason.

Miles Sanders actually still has two years left on his contract, but the dead-cap money on both years make him look like a prime cut candidate after this season.

Raheem Blackshear will be a restricted free agent after this season. But he has been more special-teamer than offensive contributor.

We'll see what Carolina does. But this injury plus Hubbard's extension lock him in as the Panthers' lead back for at least 2025.
