Steelers Edge T.J. Watt returned to a limited practice Wednesday and is expected to play Saturday against the Ravens. HC Mike Tomlin said earlier in the week that he's "optimistic" about Watt's chances of playing through the low-ankle sprain he sustained late in the Week 15 loss to the Eagles.
ESPN's Kimberley A. Martin: "I checked in on this, and the expectation I'm told is that he will be ready to go. [Tuesday] was a light day, it was a walkthrough. He did not practice. But I'm told that he does feel better, and he expects to play."
It's certainly possible that we get a more limited version of Watt than usual against Baltimore.
I have increased Watt's projections from their early-week starting point, but I still have him short of his usual playing time. That puts Watt a bit lower in the Week 16 IDP rankings than normal.
But there's risk to sitting Watt unless we know he will be playing significantly less.
He notched a sack in the first meeting with Baltimore and is coming off a 2-sack game at Philly, despite spending most of that contest facing off with stud RT Lane Johnson.
The optimism on Watt means Edge Nick Herbig will remain in a limited role.
